About the Study Index

The Australian Twin Registry (ATR) Study Index is a searchable list of all research projects previously facilitated by the ATR. It contains meta-data about ATR-enabled studies such as title, lead researcher/s, institution, dates, types of twins approached (i.e. zygosity/sex combinations), any tests or measures performed, and the publications arising from a study.

Fostering Collaborations - Study designs incorporating twin models are an invaluable part of every health and medical researcher’s repertoire. The ATR’s Study Index is therefore intended to help foster contact between researchers who have conducted studies involving twins and those who may be interested in doing so. Researchers who have already collected twin data may be interested in providing access to this resource in a deidentified format for secondary analyses and/or other collaborations.

Adding value - The Registry also hopes this Study Index may assist researchers, particularly students and early career researchers, who do not have the time and/or resources to recruit a cohort of study participants to consider using existing sources of twin data for their projects.

Disclaimer - Due to the archival nature of this information not all listings are complete. Conducting other searches (e.g. PubMed: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/) may yield additional information about an ATR-facilitated study.
